Dr. Eveline Buchheim is researcher at NIOD. Her research interests include war & gender and war & memory. She published on the role of women in colonial contexts, on the impact of the war in the Pacific, on existing gender relations, and on Second World War related Heritage Tourism. Buchheim worked as an interviewer among others, for the Oral History project on Indonesia (SMGI). She advised on oral history projects and offered training on the use of personal documents and oral history within research. She is currently preparing a book on the connections between Japanese and Dutch citizens during the Japanese occupation of Java between 1942 and 1945.
