Stephanie Welvaart is an assistant for the Witnesses & Contemporaries project. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology and a master’s degree in Sociology. Her master thesis analyzed the use of ethnic categories in social policy. She has a background in the development and implementation of educational projects concerning a variety of social themes such as human-and-children’s rights, labor market participation-and-discrimination, citizenship, and sexual diversity and resilience. These projects share the objective of opening up dialogue on social developments and themes which are considered difficult or taboo. As a project manager and advisor, she currently supports several social initiatives concerning self-determination and personal development, social tensions, and dialogue.
